Country Park FAQs

What age is the Park suitable for?

Wellington Country Park is aimed at families with children up to the age of 8 years old. Older children are very welcome, but our attractions are aimed at children of that age range, and some have even further restrictions. Unless you are meeting other family/friends, older children may not enjoy the facilities as much as younger ones.

Is there a maximum number of tickets available per day?

Yes, we have limited the number of tickets available so we can control the numbers on site.

By this means, we have found that not only does this reduce the possibility of overcrowding and queuing on entrance, but also access to and wear and tear on our play equipment and our facilities. This has improved both of the experience of our visitors and the standard of service we can offer. With reduced queuing and spreading out the numbers using individual pieces of play equipment, we believe, will result in the enhancement of your overall experience and enjoyment of your visit

We ask visitors to book online during our peak morning period from 9.30am to 12.30pm, we can reasonably control the number of visitors coming and going onsite. We do allow visitors to arrive without booking from 1.00pm

What time does the Park open/close?

Entrance times to the Park itself are:-

Low season: 9:30am – 4:30pm

High season: 9:30am- 5:30pm

The main ENTRANCE GATES to the Park, will be locked 30 minutes after the Main Reception building closes. Visitors must vacate the Car Park by that time or you may not be able to exit the Park

Please note – Different attractions close at different times. Please check timings of operation on our website or arrival to the Park.

My child has not yet turned 2, do they need a ticket?

Whilst children have free entry until they turn 2 yrs old, they do require an infant ticket of their own. Please note this is not applicable to Annual Pass holders.

Why can I only book online?

By requesting visitors to book online during our peak morning period from 9.30am to 12.30pm, we can reasonably control the number of visitors coming and going onsite. We do allow visitors to arrive without booking from 1.00pm.

By this means, we have found that not only did this reduce the possibility of overcrowding and queuing on entrance, but also access to and wear and tear on our play equipment and our facilities. Are you wheelchair accessible?

Yes, we are. Access to all buildings, café’s, soft play, party room and Reception, is either flat or via a slight ramp with a minimum access of 900mm. Flooring is either of a vinyl or tiled surface.

Once in the building and into the Park, the majority of the Park now has tarmac paths. This allows for wheelchair access to all areas of the Park including access to, in and around the Animal Farm, the Dinosaur Trail and around the back of the small lake. Access to the back of the large lake is only partly accessible for wheelchair users, as the path becomes very narrow and is of a natural rough forest floor.

Whilst there are level tarmac paths to all entrances to play areas and the areas are all visible from these points, all play areas are barked for safety reasons which unfortunately makes access for wheelchairs very difficult. All paths are approximately 2m wide with grass areas either side, which may be uneven underfoot. There are plenty of benches located throughout the Park to allow for rest.

Please note that the Train has a wheelchair carriage available to all passengers who may need to use it.

Please see our website for further details.
