Wellington Country Park Terms & Conditions for Education School Visits 2026/2027

General

Wellington Country Park’s season runs from the start of the February half-term to the end of October half-term, according to Hampshire County Council school’s holiday calendar, after which it closes for the winter.

Full information about Wellington Country Park, its facilities, services and ticket prices are available on our website www.wellingtoncountrypark.co.uk. Please ensure you read our Terms and Conditions of Entry below, before purchasing your tickets.

The following Terms and Conditions below specifically apply to educational school visits, but Wellington Country Park’s normal Terms and Conditions of Entry still apply. Please note, these may be superseded by any government guidelines set out in respect of any specific or additional conditions required at any time. By booking a visit, you are accepting and agreeing to these Terms and Conditions.

Visitors are also reminded that for operational, technical, safety or any other reason, any of the facilities on site may be closed, removed, altered or unavailable at any time.

No refund or discount on entry prices will be given should any of the above circumstances apply nor will Wellington Country Park be liable for any additional costs incurred by any visitor/s as a result of any of the above taking place.

Some attractions and facilities have limited opening times and will only operate at certain times of the year. Certain attractions/facilities are limited in use by age/height/clothing etc. Please read the signs at each attraction and observe the rules for your safety. Please note these rules are not flexible and management reserve the right to refuse use of a facility to any person who.

Please be aware that during busier periods queues may form at any point in the Park and other visitors may prevent or obstruct the trail or any part of the Park’s facilities. This is considered a normal part of the Park’s operation.

Behaviour

Wellington Country Park reserves the right in its absolute discretion to remove any visitor whose behaviour is abusive, threatening, drunken or of any other antisocial behaviour including carrying offensive weapons or illegal substances; or who acts in any way which provokes or behaves in a manner which may provoke a breach of the peace; or the behaviour of their children or dog which is deemed inappropriate by Wellington Country Park staff or represents a risk to the health and safety of any other visitor or Wellington Country Park staff. No refund will be given, nor will Wellington Country Park be liable for any additional costs incurred by any visitor/s or as a result.

Payments

Wellington Country Park is totally cashless. We now only accept card payments, contactless and apple-pay for entry or for any purchase made within the Park.

Education Visit

Booking Confirmation

All school visits must be pre-booked through our Education Team. Please contact the Education Team by email on [email protected] or by telephone on 01189 326444 between the hours of 9:30am – 4:00pm to check availability or to book. To go ahead and book, a booking form will be sent out to the school for completion.

Confirmation

A booking is only confirmed once the school have sent back the completed booking form and then in turn, receives a confirmation email from Wellington Country Park, confirming the date of booking.

Only schools with children aged 2-9 years old and where the minimum group size of paying students is 15 or more, qualify for our education rates.

Final numbers must be confirmed at least 14 days prior to the visit. Additional students on the day will be charged at the agreed group rate.

Payment

Once numbers have been confirmed, an invoice will be sent to the email address on the booking form. Payment is required in full and is due 2 weeks prior to the visit date.

Payment can be made by BACS; bank details are shown on invoice. We do also accept cheques, which should be made payable to “Wellington Country Park Ltd.”

Cancellations and Amendments by School

A refund can be issued for any children that cannot make the visit, provided this is confirmed by email prior to or within 24hrs of the visit. A refund will only be given in this case as long as the minimum number of 15 children is met.

All cancellations must be made in writing. Provided we have at least 7 days’ notice, a full refund will be given. Cancellations made less than 7 days before the visit, may result in the full fee being lost. Schools not arriving on the day of booking, without prior cancellation, will be charged in full.

Any changes to the date or group size must be communicated as soon as possible. We will try to accommodate changes but cannot guarantee availability.

Cancellations by Wellington Country Park

We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule visits due to adverse weather, safety concerns, or operational issues. In such cases, we will offer a full refund or an alternative date.

Supervision and Conduct

A minimum adult-to-child ratio must be maintained:

  • Explorer Package – 1:8
  • Bug Detectives – 1:6
  • Pond Detective – 1:4
  • Woodland Scavenger Hunt – 1:6
  • Farm Detective – 1:6

Teachers, classroom assistants and any accompanying adults are responsible for the behaviour and safety of their group at all times and are expected to assist in the supervision and get involved in the running of classroom sessions.

Code of Conduct

It is the teacher’s responsibility to ensure any child proving to be disruptive or behaving in an inappropriate or dangerous manner is either removed from the session or controlled in a manner so as not to affect the enjoyment of the group.

Students and staff are expected to behave respectfully and responsibly. Any group causing disruption or damage may be asked to leave the park without a refund.

Health, Safety, and Insurance

A general Park Risk Assessment along with Workshop Risk Assessments are available on our website. It is the school’s responsibility to complete its own Risk Assessment prior to the visit.

Pre Visit Risk Assessment

In order to carry out a pre visit Risk Assessment, we do allow 2 teacher and/or representatives of the school to visit free of charge to carry out the inspection. All visits must be pre booked in advanced and school/teacher ID must be show on arrival.

First Aid

There will be an assigned first aided on the day of your visit. Staff will only carry out basic first aid under the direction and authority of an accompanied school staff member.

Property

All items, belongings and any other personal property brought into the Park by visitors to the Park, shall be done so at the owner’s risk. Wellington Country Park accepts no liability for the loss or damage to such property.
